Pre-Engineering

Course Descriptions:

Green Engineering: Students will be able to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. Using a project-based learning style students will identify, research, and solve green related engineering problems within each designated month. Students will apply the engineering design process using the available tools to produce solutions that meet specified local needs with consideration for public health and safety, social, environmental, economic, and other factors as appropriate to the discipline. Students should expect to spend a high degree of time working on specialized projects.

Pre-Engineering: The Pre-Engineering class will focus on meeting the State of Maine high school engineering standards as listed below, while integrating project based solutions to understanding engineering concepts. The project-based assignments will provide students with opportunities to apply mathematics to solve engineering problems, acquire team working skills, practice written and verbal communication skills, and enhance problem solving and design skills. Safety, research, and projects will be the pillars of this program. And students will also learn the importance of both professionalism and basic engineering concepts.
