Annual Spraying/Fertilizing/Broadleaf Weed Control proposals need to be submitted to Karen DuBois by April 8, 2025.
As winter approaches, the prevalence of illnesses such as the flu, colds, and respiratory viruses tends to increase, making it important for parents and guardians to stay informed about how to protect the health of our students and the wider school community. The Maine Department of Education (MDOE) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that students who are sick stay home to prevent the spread of illness. If your child is experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, or fatigue, they should remain at home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. This will help ensure that the illness doesn't spread to others and that your child has time to rest and recover fully.
In addition, both the MDOE and CDC encourage families to follow best practices to reduce the transmission of germs. This includes frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow, and maintaining good hygiene. If your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness such as the flu or COVID-19, please notify the school and follow any specific guidelines for isolation and return-to-school protocols. We also urge you to keep your contact information up to date with the school so that we can quickly reach you if your child becomes ill during the school day. Your partnership in keeping our students healthy is essential, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our school community safe this winter season.
