MSAD 24 welcomes Harley Carter as our elementary Resource Room Teacher!
“Hi! My name is Harley Carter! I was raised in Madawaska for most of my life, graduating from Madawaska High School in 2019. I went to college at the University of Maine at Farmington and got my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Special Education (throughout my last two years of teaching, I also obtained my certifications in Special Education grades k-8 and 7-12!). This will be my fourth year teaching Special Education! My first year teaching, I taught at Manchester Elementary School as the Resource Room teacher. My second and third year teaching I was at Madawaska School Department as a Life Skills and Resource Room teacher! Outside of school, I love hanging out with my friends, family, reading, writing, listening to music, and doing puzzles of all sorts! I also love to travel when I can. I currently reside in Madawaska with my fiance (soon to be husband in September!) so that we can be close to our families!
I am so excited to start this new adventure in Van Buren! I can't wait to meet all of the students, staff, and families. I also can not wait to create a new classroom environment that is welcoming, encouraging, inclusive, and goal-centered!”
MSAD #24 would like to welcome Ms. Fowler as our school Nurse!
“My name is Jessica, and I’m excited to be joining the team as your school nurse. Before coming here, I worked in public health nursing, where I had the opportunity to support children and families through education, prevention, and community health programs. I’m passionate about helping students stay healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMFK and have experience in maternal-child health, health education, school nursing and caring for patients across the lifespan. I believe in building positive relationships with students, families, and staff, and I strive to create a welcoming, compassionate environment where everyone feels comfortable reaching out for support.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and making the most of life in northern Maine.
I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you and working together to support the health and success of our students. Please don’t hesitate to stop by, introduce yourself, or reach out if there’s anything I can do to help!”
